Dennis Paul Roberson, 46, unexpectedly returned to the arms of Jesus on August 7, 2017. He was a man of strong faith, an incredible work ethic, and an easy laugh and unwavering love for his family.
Dennis was born on November 1, 1970 in Berwyn, Illinois to Jim and Betty Roberson. He was the youngest of three boys and a graduate of Conroe High School. Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.
Dennis and his high school sweetheart, Anjanette, celebrated 24 years of marriage this past December and had loved each other for nearly 30 years. Their love and mutual respect for each other inspired all who knew and loved them. Together, they built a life and parented three amazing kids who have been witnesses to their Mom and Pops'/Daddy's dedication to each other and their family. Dennis was ordained by and served as a deacon at The Woodlands First Baptist Church. He and his family had recently joined First Montgomery.
Dennis was a goofball-quick with a joke or prank-and frequently found cutting up with his two brothers, Evan and Mike Roberson; his father-in-law, Larry; and his brother-in-law, Wesley. Dennis worked hard-whether at his job, at home, or helping friends or family. Among the many lessons he instilled in his children, his favorites were that "when you work hard, it pays off" and the importance of being on time. His soft signature whistle would cause all those who loved him to immediately stop and turn or come to him. Dennis loved kids of all ages. In addition to being an amazing Pops and Daddy to his own kids, he was always a favorite uncle and cousin. And he always made every child he came into contact with-whether in the Sunday School classes he taught or simply his kids' friends that entered his home-feel like one of his own.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annabel and Verbal Roberson and Bonnie Lee and Herbert Copley; uncles, Tom, Frank, and Gayle; and aunt, Marie. Dennis entered eternity alongside his father-in-law, Larry Lumpkin. Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Jim and Betty Roberson; his best friend and soulmate, Anjanette; his brothers, Evan Roberson and wife, Amy, and Dr. Mike Roberson and wife Kari; his sons, Dillan and Austin; his daughter, Drew; his aunts, Shirley, Bonnie, Frances, Brenda, Catherine, Joyce, and Barbara; his mother-in-law, Barbara; his brother-in-law, Wesley and wife, Amanda; his nephews, Noah and Zechariah; his nieces, Sarah, Abbie, Isabella, Grace, and Tessa. He is also survived by numerous loving family members and dear friends. The family will receive loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Cashner Funeral Home (801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 14, 2017 at The Woodlands First Baptist Church (11801 Grogan's Mill Road, The Woodlands, TX 77380) with burial to follow at Conroe Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dennis's name to First Montgomery. To leave condolences to the family, visit our website at www.cashnerconroe.com.
